Angiola De Stefanis

Angiola is a family lawyer, mediator and Collaborative practitioner, as well as the founder and principal of Alliance Lex Law Corporation, an innovative general practice law firm with offices in several convenient locations throughout Metro Vancouver. Angiola is a skilled advocate who brings to her vibrant practice over 22 years of experience working with individuals and families to craft constructive, effective solutions. She is dedicated to supporting her clients who are transitioning through separation and divorce to restructure their families in the healthiest way possible.

Angiola has had a broad-based legal career, practising in such varied areas as family law litigation, personal injury, general civil litigation, criminal law, business law, administrative law, elder law, wills and estates planning, and estate litigation. The common thread throughout has been her enthusiastic dedication to helping families and children. Long before no-court dispute resolution processes started to become common, Angiola was known for her negotiation skills and her keen ability to settle matters as early as possible in the litigation process.

Angiola is affectionately known in the Collaborative community as the "bridge builder," due to her particular gift for fostering respectful, open, constructive communication between spouses in conflict and supporting them in reaching fair, enduring agreements that reflect the interests that are most important to both spouses. Wherever there are children involved, Angiola is unwavering in supporting parents to be guided only by the fundamental principle of what is in the best interest of their children.

Another of Angiola's many passions is educating the public about the myriad of benefits of Collaborative Practice for families transitioning through separation and divorce so that this out-of-court process will soon become the first choice for dealing with family law disputes, and litigation will only be used as a last resort. Angiola served for four years as the co-chair of the Collaborative Divorce Vancouver Society, the largest multi-disciplinary practice group of Collaborative professionals in British Columbia.

Following undergraduate studies in Political Science and International Relations at the University of British Columbia, Angiola obtained her Juris Doctorate at the University of British Columbia, School of Law in 1991. Angiola shares her passion for people and for contribution through her extensive involvement with Rotary International, for which she has been recognized with some of Rotary's highest honours. She first joined Rotary in 1997 as a member of the Rotary Club of Burnaby, and then the Rotary Club of New Westminster Royal City where she has been a member since 2004 and served as Club President in 2011 and 2012. Angiola has also served extensively at the District level, particularly in youth-related programs. She is also a multiple Paul Harris Award recipient.

"I work with divorcing and separating couples to reach fair, enduring agreements that reflect their most important interests."
